How to Save Money Fast on a Low Income: Practical Strategies That Work

This article is an extract from the book “A New Era Is Coming” – please read it for free in order to get insights into the present and future times based on the Bible as well as other subjects such as addictions, health,t investing, manifestation, etc. Proverbs 8:11 – “For wisdom is better than rubies“.

Saving money

Here you will find the best tips on how to save money, and not only that – very often, unexpected large expenses, such as dental repairs, a broken washing machine, mold in the shower, etc., force people to go into debt. So, in this article, you will find golden tips on how to take care of everything to prevent additional large expenses. Also, you need to save money, but do not hoard fiat currency (Great Youtube lesson about this can be found here). Make money grow e.g. invest in gold or silver.

Money saving tips

  • Plan big purchases for Black Friday or Christmas sales (you can find out the exact date each year by searching Google “Black Friday date 2029”).
  • If you want to lower your phone bills, call your mobile operator’s assistant and say something like, “Competitors are aggressively offering better deals — could you offer me a better plan so I won’t be tempted to switch to another company?” The manager should reduce your prices and offer a better contract (at least this trick works in Lithuania). Prepare for the conversation e.g. what will you say if they ask you “What better deals did you find ?”. My phone’s plan with unlimited internet costs only about 14 EUR per month. I cancelled my home WiFi contract — which had modem rental fees — and now I use my phone’s internet on my computer (it’s a little less convenient than WiFi but saves money over the year). By the way, when cancelling contracts, there might be early termination fees, therefore, it’s better to negotiate with your current provider (though sometimes you can legally avoid these fees — check with competitor companies for advice). Even if you can’t negotiate with your current company, don’t be discouraged – just under a month before your contract ends, contact competitors and ask for a better deal, saying you want to switch. Usually, you’ll be able to get a better deal. Just make sure there are no penalty fees.
  • If you spent a few days watching YouTube channels like “Sidney Explains” or “Historia Prime,” you’d learn a lot of useful tricks for doing all kinds of household tasks more cheaply and efficiently. Compared to these channels, a Harvard or Oxford education is a joke—you can learn far more practical and valuable information for free on YouTube. Universities are often a scam too.
  • When cleaning your home surfaces, don’t save too much by using worn-out cloths. Using the same old cloths all the time can block your blessings, as they accumulate various energies. In Lithuania, I save a lot of money by buying cloths online (found some good deals after thorough research).
  • Avoid buying clothes from Temu as they may be using slave labour. For more info, check out this video Youtube “Temu is evil ?! Ink TV“ (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RRSNL6aT7Sg) I used to buy clothes there too, but later I got suspicious about why everything was so cheap.
  • Look for discounts in stores and buy larger quantities of products during sales to save money.
  • Try intermittent fasting. For example, eat only between 10 AM and 6 PM, and dedicate one day to fasting (though I personally need to start doing this). Our prayers are stronger when fasting and there’s plenty of evidence that intermittent fasting is healthy if you don’t have specific health issues.
  • Try to spend more time at home rather than out in town, because whenever we’re constantly out and about, there always seem to be various expenses that come up.
  • Christians should avoid jewellery, cosmetics and dress modestly. Following these guidelines can save you a good amount of money.
  • Large amounts of money go into cars. I believe it’s much smarter to use public transport unless you’re already a millionaire.
  • If you can, buy winter clothes and shoes during clearance sales for the next season.
  • Although many people recommend unplugging certain electrical devices at night, I suggest being very careful with this, because for some equipment it can be harmful. For example, you should not unplug inkjet printers, OLED TVs, or Wi-Fi routers. If you decide to unplug something at night, make sure to check whether it could damage those devices.
  • I think it’s better to buy food for each day, because when you buy a lot of food for several days, you tend to eat more in the evenings or at night.
  • Meat can be replaced with cheaper products, since the meat in supermarkets may be unhealthy as we don’t know the conditions in which the animals were kept and raised. Research online how to safely substitute meat with cheaper and healthier alternatives. But I like meat myself. The best option would be to have your own farm where animals are well cared for and raised in good conditions.
  • Instead of paying money to a gym, buy dumbbells (exercise at home) and go outside every day to jog or at least take a walk.
  • At one point, I was drinking a huge amount of water every day—probably around 8 liters—and I had no idea what was happening to me. This also meant I was spending a lot of money on water.
Later, I tried drinking one glass of water a day with a tiny pinch of sea salt in it. I think about 1/16 of a teaspoon may be enough, but only if you don’t have high blood pressure or certain medical conditions. Consult ChatGPT or Gemini to make sure it is safe for you to drink a small amount of water with sea salt. The WHO recommends that adults consume less than 2 g of sodium, or about 5 g of salt, per day, because high sodium intake can increase blood pressure and the risk of cardiovascular disease. My thirst immediately decreased, and as a result, I felt healthier because I was no longer drinking such an unusually large amount of water and putting as much strain on my kidneys. I also saved money because I no longer had to spend so much on water. If you constantly feel extremely thirsty, the most important thing is to find out why. Persistent excessive thirst can be related to diabetes, certain hormonal disorders, medications, or other medical conditions. In my case, I tried to figure out what was happening to me, and all my tests—for example, my diabetes tests—came back normal. I am otherwise completely healthy, so I still don’t know why I was experiencing such excessive thirst. However, I noticed that a tiny pinch of sea salt seemed to eliminate my excessive thirst.
  • Use reusable shopping bags for your groceries.
  • Buy a blanket and warm socks so that you won’t need to use an electric heater in autumn and winter, as it consumes a lot of energy (although it is more convenient for me to wear a winter jacket at home when it is cold). Warm underwear (Google “thermal clothing”) might also come in handy. It’s also possible to put, for example, radiator foil behind the radiator so that it reflects heat back into the room and reduces losses through the wall. It’s recommended to move any furniture that is right next to the radiator so it doesn’t block the heat from spreading. I’ve read about various tricks people do with a simple tin can to make a room warmer — try entering into ChatGPT “How to increase room temperature with a can,” for example this one:
A can as a thermal accumulator – Fill the can with water. Place it on the radiator or in a warm spot. The water absorbs heat and releases it slowly when the radiator turns off. How much does it raise the temperature? Not much, but it can distribute the heat more evenly.
  • I’m very interested in the “Amish heater” on Google or Amazon.com – they claim it can save about 50% on home electricity heating costs, and if you make a device that burns wood, maybe you could save even more (there are many YouTube videos about “Amish heater”). Foreign media really criticize these devices, which only makes me more intrigued, because there could be a secret to saving here, and I don’t trust the media. In short, I suggest looking into it – I hope I’m not wrong :-)

  • If you don’t buy bags, return bottles and take advantage of promotions, you can save a solid amount over the year. Just by using reusable bags you can save around 100 EUR per year; bottles save about another 100 EUR, and promotions save even more. By the way, time is valuable, so collect bottles in large bags so you don’t waste time too often.
  • It’s not necessary to buy a new computer when it starts to slow down. Simply clean it with the free Wise Registry Cleaner program (Google), also use programs like CCleaner occasionally, and your computer will work great for 10 years.
  • Free cyber security – If you want to save money on cyber security, Avast offers free Antivirus software for both your PC and phone e.g. Avast mobile security; Nordpass has a free password manager (for one device only) and 1.1.1.1.1 offers a free VPN service WARP. If you combine all these services together (find them on Google) and if you only use one device (e.g. your phone) – you can use all of them for free.
  • If you use any paid virtual services such as antivirus software, online movies and films, a VPN, or something similar, you can often save money by clicking the “Unsubscribe” button (to cancel the subscription). When the product’s validity period ends, click this button and companies will often offer better deals with lower prices.
  • When buying groceries – make a list of it before going to the shop.
  • Don’t buy coffee in the city, quit beer, wine and cigarettes. You will save a huge amount of money. You can quit addictions with God’s help.
  • Read the secrets of oral hygiene, which can be found in this book – you will save a four-figure amount on dental bills too 😊
  • You can often save money by shopping online.
  • If you want to spend a substantial amount of money – delay the purchase for 24 hours and only then make the final decision if you really need it.
  • When making bigger purchases – consider asking for a discount.
  • Watch, plan and record your expenses.
  • Once you’ve saved some money for a while, you can increase your savings goals even more. For example, invest in solar energy or buy a house in a country to save on rent, and so on. You can look up on Google “How to live off-grid” – nowadays you can get everything – water, electricity, etc.—almost for free. This way you save even more over the year. More information and videos on this subject can be found at our prepping page or Sidney Explains and Historia Prime Youtube channels.
  • Buy only high-quality products, not the cheapest ones—for example, when it comes to household appliances, clothing, etc.—because a miser pays twice.

  • Although artificial intelligence is a demonic product, we can still make use of it as long as we don’t become friends with it. So if you need, for example, translation, a lawyer, WordPress programming, or similar services, you can save money by using artificial intelligence.

  • Invest in your health, because if something happens to it, it will most likely cost much more than all your savings. Look into a 70–80% alkaline food diet.

  • Be frugal, but don’t be overly stingy when it comes to food — it’s better to buy higher quality water, choose organic bananas and so on.
  • Do not buy second hand clothes because no one knows who the previous owner was and how unsuccessful he has been in his finances.
  • Try negotiating rent prices sometimes, for example.
  • Avoid status symbols (luxury cars, designer clothes, expensive watches, etc.)—these items are more suited for the Stone Age than for our times :-) Many people go bankrupt trying to show off and brag in front of others.
  • Keep your phone/tablet battery between 20-80% charge. Avoid fully draining or fully charging it. This will significantly extend the device’s lifespan.
  • If you can’t afford dietary supplements and vitamins, at least buy iodized sea salt to use with your meals (it is extremely cheap). One teaspoon of salt contains approximately 5–6 grams of salt. The World Health Organization recommends that adults consume no more than 5 grams of salt per day (about one level teaspoon), including the salt already present in prepared and processed food.

Sprinkling food with iodized sea salt can offer several benefits when used in moderation:

Provides iodine: The main advantage is that it supplies iodine, an essential nutrient your body needs to produce thyroid hormones. These hormones regulate metabolism and support normal growth and brain development.

Supports thyroid health: Getting enough iodine helps prevent iodine deficiency, which can lead to an enlarged thyroid (goiter) and reduced thyroid hormone production.

Provides sodium: Sodium is an essential electrolyte that helps maintain fluid balance, supports nerve function, and allows muscles—including the heart—to contract normally.

Improves flavor: A small sprinkle of salt can enhance the taste of food, making healthy meals more enjoyable.

May contain trace minerals: Depending on how it’s produced, sea salt may contain very small amounts of minerals such as magnesium, calcium, and potassium.

  • If your phone is getting old and the battery drains fast, you might not need a new one – just replace the battery with a qualified technician. It could be much cheaper than buying a new phone.
  • You can save a lot by switching to a water-saving showerhead (look for one online). Even more savings if more than one person uses the shower.
  • I used to often go to the store to buy a sandwich when the food ran out in the evening, but I noticed that I can save a lot if I have buckwheat stockpiled at home.
  • Budget Diet: The most budget meals are beans and rice (brown rice is much healthier than white). If you get bored of such a core of the meals then I suggest adding buckwheat with ginger to your diet and slice up some apples – it‘s also very cheap. This diet lacks vitamin C (you may buy mandarins) and green vegetables (e.g. cucumbers). Ask ChatGPT or Gemini how to make this diet fully nutritious for your body. By the way, if you don’t have hot water – I think you can soak buckwheat in cold water too, it will just take way longer for it to become edible.

  • If you are shopping online, always use the search filter to start listing prices from the lowest one.

  • I suggest that men wear the cheapest tracksuits at home; that way your jeans will last longer because they will wear out less and you will need to replace them less often. Jeans are at least twice as expensive as cheap tracksuits.
  • You should avoid using heaters in your home with extension cords or “triple” adapters, because heaters are powerful and can cause a fire, leading to major financial losses.
  • When you invite a handyman to your home, be sure to get at least an approximate price for the work before they arrive, because otherwise they may ask for a much higher fee afterward if you haven’t agreed on the price in advance.

How to make your washing machine work longer ?

How much laundry can you put into a washing machine?

Laundry should be loaded so that the drum is not completely packed. General recommendations:

Cotton (towels, bedding, shirts): You can fill the drum to about 70–80% of its volume. The remaining space (about 1/4–1/3) is needed so the laundry can move freely.

Synthetics, sportswear: Fill only about 50% of the drum.

Wool, delicate fabrics: Only about 30% of the drum.

Why should some space be left?

Water and detergent need to circulate easily.

    Better washing and rinsing results.

Less vibration and less wear on the motor and bearings.

An overloaded drum can damage both the clothes and the machine.

If you are trying to wash bulky items, such as blankets, that don’t fit well in your washing machine’s drum, it’s best to take them to a laundromat, where a larger, more powerful washing machine may be available.

To ensure that your washing machine serves you for a long time and works efficiently, it is important to use and maintain it properly. Here are some tips to help achieve this:

    Avoid Overloading the Machine

Never overload the washing machine. If you stuff it too full, the machine won’t be able to wash your clothes properly, which could put additional strain on the motor and other components.

Follow the manufacturer’s instructions regarding the maximum laundry load.

    Clean the Filters Regularly

Check and clean the machine’s filters and drain pipes regularly to avoid blockages. A clogged filter can cause poor water drainage and reduce the machine’s efficiency.

    Use the Right Detergents

Only use the recommended detergents and be sure to follow the manufacturer’s instructions on the correct amount. Excessive detergent can cause buildup, which can accumulate inside the machine and damage its mechanisms.

Also, choose the right products based on your washing machine type (e.g., liquid detergents for machines with automatic dosing).

    Keep the Machine Clean

After each wash, leave the door open to prevent mold or unpleasant smells from forming inside. This helps to avoid moisture buildup and allows the machine to dry.

Once a month, run a cleaning cycle with no clothes inside, using special washing machine cleaners.

    Regular Maintenance

Check for worn-out parts (e.g., rubber seals) and replace them immediately if damaged to avoid further issues.

Periodically clean the inside of the washing machine from deposits that can form due to hard water.

    Use Gentle Washing Cycles

Using shorter, cooler, or medium-temperature cycles reduces strain on both the clothes and the machine itself. Hot water can wear out parts more quickly and negatively affect energy consumption.

Ensure the Machine is Placed Stably

The machine should be placed on a level, sturdy floor surface. An unstable setup can cause vibration, noise, and even damage mechanical parts.

    Regular Breaks Between Uses

If you use the machine every day, ensure there is a break of a few hours between washes. This helps maintain the components and reduces continuous stress on the machine.

  • How much washing powder should I use for washing ?

    Automatic washing machine (regular powder)
Small load (~2–3 kg): ~20–35 g of powder (small drum, lightly soiled)
Medium load (~4–5 kg): ~35–75 g of powder — depending on the level of soiling and water hardness
Large load (~6–8 kg): ~70–100+ g of powder; if clothes are very dirty, use slightly more

    Approximately:
5 kg of laundry (~normal wash): about 50–80 g of powder
Heavily soiled laundry: add +10–20 g

How to measure it in practice
1 tablespoon ≈ 12–15 g of powder (depends on the brand)
For a medium load (~5 kg), 4–6 tablespoons (~50–90 g) are often sufficient

    Additional tips
Use less if: the laundry is lightly soiled and the water is soft (no need for much detergent).
Do not use too much, because: detergent may remain on clothes, excess foam may form, and the washing machine may clog or develop unpleasant odors.
If, when reading the manufacturer’s instructions, the recommended dose seems large, a smaller amount is often sufficient, especially in modern HE (high-efficiency) washing machines.

    Alternatives
Laundry capsules: usually 1 capsule is enough for 4–5 kg of laundry — no measuring required.
Liquid detergents / gels: used according to the manufacturer’s label and often in smaller amounts than powder detergents.

    In short
For a standard wash, it is not necessary to use the full amount recommended by the manufacturer on the packaging — less is often enough.
In general, ~35–100 g of powder per standard wash is an optimal range, depending on the load size and level of soiling.

How to prevent mold or mildew in your shower room ?

    After every shower
    – Ventilate the bathroom
    – Turn on the exhaust fan (if available) for at least 20–30 minutes.
    – Open a window or door if there is no fan.
    – Wipe off water: Use a rubber squeegee to remove water from walls, tiles, and glass.
    – Dry corners and silicone seals (this is where mold appears first).
    – Leave the shower doors or curtain open.

    Regular maintenance (once a week)
    – Clean the shower area
    – Use anti-mold or antibacterial cleaners.
    – Pay special attention to silicone, tile grout, and the drain.
    – Wash the shower curtain – machine wash at 40–60 °C (if the label allows).
    – Clean the drain – hair and soap residue trap moisture → an ideal environment for mold.
    – Heating helps
    – A warm room dries faster (heated floors or a towel warmer are a big plus).

    Protective measures
    – There are sprays that create a protective layer and help prevent mold from forming.
    – Do not dry towels on shower walls – they trap moisture and prevent surfaces from drying.

    In short
    – Ventilate after every shower
    – Dry surfaces
    – Clean silicone and grout regularly
    – Control humidity

  • Pray to Jesus Christ for His help because He has been on this earth and He knows our struggles. You can also pray to God the Father but make sure to do this in Jesus mighty name.
  • Believe that you will quit it, although prayers often take a long time to manifest – do no give up.

How to get out of debt ?

Use the snowball method – cut down your expenses – pay your lowest debt. Then you will get extra income – pay the next one and so on. Or another option : refinance your debt if you can find better rates so you would have a lower monthly fee. You can decline insurance option to reduce the rate even further.
